Social recruiting is bigger than LinkedIn alone. Here's what the category actually covers and what's worth the investment.
"Social recruiting" is often used as a synonym for LinkedIn, but the category covers more — and which channel actually works depends heavily on the roles you're filling.
For most professional and corporate roles, a strong LinkedIn presence plus consistent recruiter outreach still outperforms other social channels by a wide margin — the tooling question is usually about efficiency (InMail credits, search depth, automation) rather than channel diversification. Employee advocacy tools are the most consistently underused high-ROI piece of this category: employees' personal networks reach people your company page never will.
For niche-channel tools, verify actual candidate density for your specific roles before committing — a tool covering a platform with little relevant talent for your hiring needs isn't worth the subscription regardless of features.
