Talent community platforms are more than a resume database. Here's what separates them from a basic CRM talent pool.
"Talent community" platforms overlap heavily with recruiting CRM, but the better ones add genuine two-way engagement rather than just storing candidate records.
A recruiting CRM is primarily a recruiter-facing tool for managing outreach. A talent community platform is partly candidate-facing — members have their own experience, not just a record recruiters search through. If your strategy depends on candidates actively engaging with your brand over time (events, content, referrals), the community layer matters. If it's purely recruiter-driven outreach, a CRM alone may be enough.
Ask to see the actual member-facing experience, not just the recruiter dashboard — a weak candidate-side experience undermines the entire premise of a "community."
